Laos is our base of operations and our bikes are well maintained we have a long list of satisfied clients.  Our rates are inclusive of a sit down consultation for your trip, tool kit for minor repairs, multiple point inspection of each bike before rental, safe deposit of extra bags or valuables while you are riding, inexpensive gear rental, hotel bookings based on a flexible schedule, road assistance, secure online payment, pick up and drop off of the bike in various locations and the confidence to know you have someone in Vientiane you can talk to if you need advice or support.

Coming soon, we’ll be able to offer GPS rentals for self guided touring and waypoint demarcation for getting to the right place instead of, well, you know.

The Bikes

Honda Baja 250 CC 

The Honda XR 250 is a 4 stroke engine, 250 cc in size and a 6 speed, chain drive.  The weight of the bike is around 126 kilos.  The bike is outfitted with a rear rack that can support baggage tied on with bungee cord straps. Electric start and this model has dual headlamps.  RATES

Honda XR 250 CC 

The Honda XR 250 is a 4 stroke engine, 250 cc in size and a 6 speed, chain drive.  The weight of the bike is about 120 kilos.  The bikes are outfitted with rear racks that can support baggage and be tied down with bungee cord straps.  Electric start and this model is slightly lighter  than the  Baja and  8 liter fuel tank.  RATES

Honda CRF X 250 CC

Similar to the XR and Baja but this one is a rider only bike designed for mixed use road/trail.  Lots of low end power to pull out of any situation you may be in and lightweight.  Kick and electric start on this model.  Great  Fun Bike!!!  RATES

Honda FTR 230 CC

Nicknamed “Tracker”, this 5 speed, 120 kilo bike has oversize tires and is suitable for road tours and dirt roads but not real off road travel.  A smaller 7 liter fuel tank isn’t an issue on range (150 KM) as gas is available everywhere.  The FTR can handle 2 passengers and gear can fit on the rear rack. Honda Transalp 400 CC

This road bike is great for rides along the paved roads of Laos and one of the most comfortable bikes available.  Rider plus passenger is no problem and there is a rack for a bag on the back.  Large capacity fuel tank and smooth ride for those not wishing to get off the road but the Transalp is a dual sport bike at heart. Honda Hornet 250

Compact and fast, this street bike is great for runs on the highways of Laos.  This bike can easily take two with only light luggage and zip around Laos.  Suitable for riders that are not so tall as it has a low seat. RATES

This is the ultimate road cruiser for Laos and comfortable for longer days in the saddle.  Rider and passenger plus a small rack for gear and small panniers for your luggage allow you to just take off and ride the mountains in style. RATES

Yamaha TW 200 CC 

Dual sport and ideal for tarmac and all weather dirt roads, this is an easy to ride bike with a weight of 120 Kilos.  Oversize tires give added traction on paved surfaces and all weather roads. RATES

Yamaha TTR Raid 250 CC 

This durable off road bike can also run the trails and single tracks with its 250 cc, 4 stroke engine purring along.  Great in mud and this one has good low range power.  Experienced riders only on this bike. RATES

Yamaha WRF 250 CC
The beast of Laos. This bike is for experienced riders only and those knowing how to really have a good time on a true dirtbike.  Enduro riders love this bike (so does Jim) and while 2 persons can fit on it with a bit of luggage, it is better suited for solo riding.  This is the absolute best off road bike for rent in Laos because of the power of the bike.  So much fun it's freaky. Estrella 250 CC

This classic look to the Kawasaki designed bike turns heads everywhere.  It has a slight Royal Enfield look to it without the design flaws.  There are 2 seating versions of this bike and it can comfortably take 2 persons on the roads of Laos. RATES

 Suzuki Van Van 200 CC

Great for long trips on this lightweight bike, the Van Van is a bit less powered than the other bikes but pulls well on hills and the comfort factor is quite high. RATES

Note – Payment in full is required once a quotation is confirmed.  The passport of the renter is required to serve as a deposit for the motorcycle.  Read more about the Terms and Conditions.

Cambodia

There are many rental outfits in Cambodia and all the good ones are in Phnom Penh.  At the moment, we can only recommend Bernard Merklen’s company, The Bike Shop www.motorcyclecambodia.com  He has own shop in Phnom Penh and rents out mostly Honda XR 250 and XR 400 motorcycles. While his rates may be a bit higher than the rest of the town (XR 250 $25/day and XR400 $40/day including MX helmet), it’s because his equipment is maintained professionally.  While I’ve (Jim) never had to rent from Bernard, I have sent numerous clients his way and all were satisfied with the quality of the bike.
